Effects of Relativistic Dynamics in pp − → ppπ 0 near Threshold
The cross-section for threshold π0 production in proton-proton collisions is evaluated in the framework of the covariant spectator description. The negative energy intermediate states are included non-perturbatively and seen to yield a considerably smaller contribution, when compared to perturbative treatments. A family of OBE-models with different off-shell scalar coupling is considered. Types...
متن کاملRelativistic Quantum Thermodynamics of Ideal Gases in 2 Dimensions
In this work we study the behavior of relativistic ideal Bose and Fermi gases in two space dimensions. Making use of polylogarithm functions we derive a closed and unified expression for their densities. It is shown that both type of gases are essentially inequivalent, and only in the non-relativistic limit the spinless and equal mass Bose and Fermi gases are equivalent as known in the literature.

متن کاملThreshold Effects in Sticky Information Philips Curve: Evidence from Iran
During the last decade, several studies have argued that sticky information model proposed by Mankiw and Reis (2002), in which firms update their information occasionally rather than instantaneously, explains some stylized facts about the inflation dynamics. Sticky information pricing model successfully captures the sluggish movement of aggregate prices in response to monetary policy shocks. De...
متن کاملAbove threshold ionization in tightly focused, strongly relativistic laser fields.
The dynamics of electrons ionized from high charge states by lasers with intensity >10(20) W/cm(2) have been studied. At these intensities vxB forces drive the electrons subsequent to ionization in a trajectory nearly parallel to the laser propagation direction. This gives rise to large energy gains as the electron rides in phase with the laser field over a long distance. Monte Carlo simulation...
